Domestic Violence Victim-Charyl Kuryzna Johnson

Charyl's story of survival

I'm Sue. My husband and I own a small greenhouse business beside Charyl's house. Her family has owned this property for 3 generations. On the morning of December 5, 2024 her life changed forever.

This is her miraculous story of survival.

Charyl's husband was drinking heavily. He started early and continued to drink until late night. She was afraid to go to bed so she stayed up, hoping he would pass out. Sometime around 4 am, she was sitting in her recliner with her cat in her lap and he walked out of their bedroom with a large knife and calmly stated "I think I'm going to kill you." He began to viciously strike and attack her with the knife. He killed her cat and stabbed her in the leg, neck, and head. She tried to protect her head with her arms as he stabbed her 18 times. Her arms tell the story of her struggle to stay alive. She was knocked unconscious.

When she awoke he was gone! Her landlines phone was on the table beside her. Her finger had so many cuts and her hands were slippery with blood but she managed to dial 911. She quietly told them her husband had stabbed her and she was bleeding badly, please hurry. She lost consciousness again

The police arrived in silence. They surrounded the house and an officer approached the lighted back door. As he did he saw the husband return to the room with a shotgun. When the husband saw the police officer he turned the shotgun to shoot Charyl. The officer fired, undoubtedly saving Charyl's life.

Charyl is still in the hospital. She needs help with her medical bills and to replace the many destroyed parts of her home. She also hopes that her story will inspire other victims of abuse OR abusers to GET HELP.

Please help if you can. If you cannot help then PLEASE SHARE HER STORY!
