Charlene is one week sober and doing very well. She’s excited about starting the new life without the crutch of alcohol. She has gone through so much in the last year and we would really appreciate your support to get her back on her feet.

We wanted to share an important update on Charlene's journey. She has now reached 5 days of sobriety. Charlene is deeply committed to her recovery and remains incredibly focused. While she is doing well, she recognizes that the road ahead is still long and challenging.

We are incredibly relieved that Charlene has decided to seek help. While she had to give up her home, car, and work, those things can be replaced. What can't be replaced is a life, and the emotional scars left on loved ones.

As someone who grew up with alcoholic parents, I understand the impact all too well. There are often only two outcomes: sobriety or death. Tragically, my mother succumbed to alcoholism and took her own life at the age of 51. The pain of losing her was immense, and now, I face the heartache of having three children struggling with alcoholism.

Fortunately, I found support in Alateen and Al-Anon as I grew up. These programs helped me understand the disease and cope with the challenges it brings. I encourage anyone who has an alcoholic friend or family member to seek help for themselves. It will provide you with the understanding and support you need to navigate this difficult journey.
