Help me to survive, life saving surgery at mayo clinic
Donation protected
Hello everyone, I wanted to share an important update and thank you again for your continued support, love, and prayers. After years of battling life-threatening complications from my gastric bypass surgery (done in 2018), I finally have a major step forward: I’m scheduled for a bypass reversal surgery on September 2nd at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. This is the only way to reach my pancreas and liver.
This surgery isn’t common, and only a few doctors in the country are trained and willing to do it. I’ve been through so much — two bowel obstructions, sepsis, feeding tube, atrophic pancreas, severe hypoglycemia, blood clots, part of my colon removed, and now, a tumor on my pancreas. The surgeon is 85% sure its insulinoma. My liver is also dilated,(intrahepatic and extrahepatic) I’m undergoing an ERCP to further explore damage to my pancreas and liver.
This reversal gives me a fighting chance. A chance to stabilize my blood sugars. A chance to get my life — and my health — back.
But I can't do this alone.
Traveling to Mayo Clinic multiple times, paying for lodging, transportation, prescriptions, and post-op recovery while managing other health conditions has become overwhelming. Every donation, no matter the size, is helping me fight to stay alive. Even if you can’t give, sharing my GoFundMe can make all the difference.
Thank you for believing in me.
Thank you for helping me get to this point.
I’m not giving up.
With love and gratitude,
Charmaine E.
