Our beautiful colleague and friend Charmaine is facing an incredibly difficult and unexpected chapter in her life.

She has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and will soon undergo major surgery to have it removed. Her recovery will require a period away from work, a period no family is ever truly prepared for.

Our deepest hope is to take as much financial pressure off her as possible, so she can focus entirely on healing without the fear of bills piling up or essential living costs becoming overwhelming.

Charmaine is not only a devoted educator, but an extraordinarily dedicated mum to her three children. Her kids are members of the Helensvale community, growing up in the same local streets, schools, parks, and sports fields we all share.

Charmaine has poured her heart into raising kind, resilient, children, and she has given so much of herself to ensure they feel safe, supported, and deeply loved. This surgery and recovery period will be challenging for her family, and the last thing she should have to worry about is financial stress while she focuses on getting well for them.

At work, Charmaine is a compassionate, patient, and nurturing educator who gives endlessly to the children and families she supports. She is the type of colleague who shows up with warmth, steadiness, and loyalty, never asking for anything in return. Now she needs us to show up for her.
