Support Charly Wenzel's Dance Theatre Piece "US"

My name is Charly Wenzel and I'm a dancer, choreographer, director, and award-winning filmmaker from Germany.

I'm currently working on my Dance Theatre piece "US," a third excerpt iteration of the full-length work "HUMAN - Layers of Identity."

We were invited to present the first two iterations of this work at Theater for the New City as part of the Lower East Side Festival of the Arts in 2023 and 2024, and we were invited once again this year to show a continuation of the work.

The piece features an international cast of female performers, and it aims to spark essential conversations on discrimination, empathy, and the power of human connection and inclusivity. We believe our work is now more relevant than ever, and we consider it our duty and privilege as artists to encourage these dialogues.

In order to take advantage of this performance opportunity, we need to raise funds to pay for rehearsal space, costumes, and to compensate performers.

After successful work-in-progress presentations at Theater for the New City and at the HB Playwrights Theatre, we are asking for your support to help us take this important piece to the next step.
