Friends of Charlton Animal Shelter is asking for your compassion and support.
On Thanksgiving, a young puppy, who has been named Tator, was found abandoned on the side of the road, and no owner has claimed him. After veterinary evaluation, they revealed he has a fractured femur, requiring urgent surgery. This surgery can cost up to $5,000 not including pre-surgery visits and post op visits.
This is the largest single animal medical expense Charlton Animal Control has faced in the last 5 years. While we are grateful that most cases don’t reach this level of need, this situation is beyond what our non-profit can manage alone without depleting our savings. We’re asking our community to help us give this puppy the second chance he deserves.
In recent months, we’ve taken on several difficult and costly cases including an older Yorkie named Kolby who needed a full dental removal and a cat named Dale who was severely burned and needed many vet visits. These situations are why our organization exists. But these medical cases have depleted a great portion of our funds.
Your donation—no matter the amount—will go directly toward Tator's surgery, recovery care, follow-up visits, and any additional treatment necessary to ensure he can thrive in a loving, forever home. Any funds raised beyond the cost of the surgery will be used in supporting our mission including medical care for pets like Kolby, Dale, and Tator, as well as emergency preparedness and the general wellbeing of Charlton pets.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and continued support of Friends of Charlton Animal Shelter.
