Hi, my name is Beth and I’ve set up this GoFundMe in hopes that we can all help my truly talented, amazing, and beautiful dear friend, Charlsie, as she fights her recent diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer.

I have been friends with Charlsie for close to 25 years. When I met her she was immediately welcoming, inclusive, and kindhearted. I knew when I met her that we would be friends for life. Charlsie has always been the one person who helps others. Friends, family, and even strangers… she has, and always will, have your back. No question. And now is the perfect time for me to help her during this stressful time.

This summer hasn’t been what Charlsie and her partner, Kris, planned when a day of some back pain landed her in the hospital on Memorial Day Weekend with a scan that revealed a mass… and many tests followed from there. After a month of tests and the overwhelming anxiety of waiting for the results, Charlsie was advised to start her care with Memorial Sloan Kettering and following a diagnostic surgery to remove her ovary and fallopian tube, she has been undergoing chemotherapy since. She is now five treatments down!

Charlsie and Kris’s life has dramatically changed, with active chemotherapy treatments, needing to take medical leave from Charlsie’s job, doctors appointments, and planning for a major surgery in November that will hopefully kick this cancer to the curb with two more treatments to follow! Her partner, Kris, has been by her side every step of the way-missing time from work to drive her to appointments, attend treatments when she can, and care for their fur babies. The financial strain is growing, even as they try to stay focused on her health and healing. If you know Charlsie, she has remained strong (as she has always been), with a courageous smile and positive mental attitude despite all of these challenges. Her doctors are very positive with her prognosis and how she is handling and responding to her treatments!

Funds raised will go toward helping Charlsie with anything she might need. I’m hoping you may be able to help me raise as much money as possible to help ease financial burdens and distress as she is best focusing on her treatments, health, and wellness, without any added stress. The true love from her partner (and pups), family, and friends is what makes her heart smile every day. 

**UPDATE**: as of 10/17, Charlsie has been let go from her job and left heartbroken as she had dedicated so much of herself to the company she loved for almost four years. This has just added so much stress to an already stressful time and she will now have to find a new job after she completes her treatment in the spring.

Anything will help bridge the gap while she tries to find a new job while trying to heal from treatments and surgeries. Even a $1 will be truly appreciated. And just as important, SHARING this page will mean so much to her.

-Care for her Fur babies (two cute dogs) at home, while she is away from home in treatments.
