Hello, my name is Tara. Some of you may remember that I posted a fundraiser back in December for my dear friend, Charlotte.

In 2019, Charlotte was diagnosed with an aggressive and incurable cancer called Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumours (GIST). Unlike many other cancers, GIST does not typically respond to chemotherapy or radiation. Instead, it is treated with targeted medications and, when necessary, surgery.

Sadly, after several years of treatment, the medications stopped working. In December, Charlotte underwent radical surgery to remove the affected organs.

Despite this, the cancer has returned, and Charlotte is in the final months of her life.

Charlotte’s final wish is to return home — from Sydney to the UK — to spend her last months surrounded by her family. To make this possible, we are asking for your help to cover the cost of flights for Charlotte, her husband Simon, and their ten year old son Max, as well as to assist with living expenses, as neither Charlotte nor Simon will be able to work during this time.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. Your generosity will help grant Charlotte the dignity and comfort of being with her loved ones in her final days.
