Michelle Price, Morgan Hearn and Kat Fernell from Hartpury's Wellbeing Team are have completed individual marathons on 13th April 2025 with support from Jon Glover and family who kept us motivated, hydrated and everything we needed to complete this epic run. This is to raise funds for our friend and colleague, Charlotte, and her family during an incredibly difficult time.
Just before Christmas, Charlotte’s life was turned upside down when her daughter experienced a severe mental health crisis, leading to a tragic event.
With Christmas just around the corner, Charlotte and her husband Craig were eagerly anticipating a much-needed break with their family.
However, while working, we received news that the M5 motorway had been closed,
causing major delays for travellers heading home. The closure led to a traffic jam that lasted for around 8 hours, leaving many people stranded. While this was frustrating and, at times, unsafe for those caught in the delay, most could eventually return to safety and their usual lives. Unfortunately, for Charlotte and her family, that evening marked a turning point, and their lives would be changed forever.
As a parent, it is only in my darkest nightmares I could picture what it would be like to receive that call from the police that Charlotte had that evening. She went from worrying about the length of travel time home to worrying about her daughter’s survival.
Since then, Charlotte and her family have been focused on supporting her daughter’s recovery in Bristol Children’s Hospital. They never had a Christmas but the best present they received was their daughter beating all odds and surviving.
We are determined to run this marathon in support of Charlotte and her family. Our goal is to raise funds that will provide financial relief and help cover the costs associated with being there for their daughter in this difficult time.
Every donation, no matter the size, will help make a difference. Your generosity will go directly to supporting the family in any
way they need, allowing them to focus on what matters most: their daughter’s recovery.
Thank you for considering a donation and for showing kindness during this difficult time.
