Support Charli’s Urgent Medical Needs

Donation protected
Hi, this is Charli. She’s an 8yr old chihuahua miracle. She nearly died at birth and I saved her. Since the moment she took her first breath I have been by her side. Now she needs medical help. Today Charli went to an emergency vet for the second time in two days. Her tummy is swollen and hard and she cries when you try to pick her up. She doesn’t want to walk or move. Charli has a large blockage in her stomach and her food isn’t making it to her intestines for digestion. Her G.I. Tract is inflamed and so is her liver. Just a few days ago Charli was happy and super spunky as usual. Today her life is hanging on the line. Even with ultrasound and X-rays we do not know what is blocking her stomach. It could be a foreign object or it could be a large cancerous mass. The doctors say she could also have appendicitis and an underlying case of cushings disease. She is in a very large amount of pain and the treatment doesn’t seem to be making things much better and very soon life saving surgery will be our only chance. This week I was let go from my job and money is running out. Between the two vet visits so far my total cost is already at $2720. This little girl means absolutely everything to me and I’m doing my very best to give her the treatment she needs and ease her pain as much as possible. I believe if it comes to surgery it will be life saving and there’s nothing more in the world I need than to have my Charli on this earth for a long healthy life. She doesn’t deserve this horrible pain. I truly cannot imagine my life without her, especially while she is this young! We are running out of money and truly need your help! Please help us fund Charli’s medical expenses. This is a very special creature, a one of a kind, a perfect sweet Angel that has been by my side through some of the hardest times of my life. When I feel like giving up I look at Charli and she gives me the strength to keep going. I truly do not know what I would do if she were to be taken from me so soon…. Please consider helping us fund her medical bills so that she has another shot at her precious life. Thank you ever so much.

**UPDATE**
Charli ended up going to the vet a third day in a row. We took more X-rays and blood work. The good news is the blockage was beginning to move out of her stomach. The excrement in her intestines were full of strange grainy pieces. Her liver was slightly was inflamed then on the first day we took her in. She was put on some more medications including stronger pain meds and medication to help her want to eat because we want whatever was ingested to pass. She was also put on a special diet along with probiotic capsules. That day after the vet Charli began having very explosive diarrhea and began having blood in her stool by that night and didn’t want to eat or drink. The good news is the blood wasn’t a lot and apparently normal for how often she was expelling diarrhea. She didn’t want to eat but was still taking some water at that point. Over the phone the vet recommended giving some pumpkin and her antacid and see if things get any better. Onto the next day the diarrhea didn’t stop but there was a noticeable difference in Charli. She was starting to walk in her own again a little bit. She still wouldn’t eat the food from the vet so I tried a different wet food and she scarfed it down. I was able to give her meds again in the other food. Things were starting to look up. She was getting perky and had a little more pep in her step, although still having diarrhea every couple hours. Later that night things took a turn again and her belly swelled up again and she continued having more diarrhea than ever. I was outside with her every hour for about eleven hours. Now she’s not eating or drinking anything at all and becoming lethargic again. That being said today I took her to a pet hospital and had more X-rays and a number of other treatments done. She has lost a full pound in three days and was very dehydrated. The good news is it looks like her intestines are cleared out but her entire gastric tract is still very inflamed and she’s still in pain. Not having a blockage is a great relief but we needed to put her on an IV drip along with antibiotics and several other medications and kept watch on over night at the hospital. The vet still believes she will be needing a full diagnostic abdominal ultrasound to look more closely at her liver tomorrow morning. Right now she’s in the hospital and her update says her vitals are good, she’s alert, and she’s comfortable. We’re hoping that by tomorrow she will be able to start eating and drinking again on her own and that will be a massive success. Currently Charli’s vet bills have accumulated to $4360. I have been fortunate which to have been approved for care credit to cover the costs along with my emergency credit card. I still am out of work and have been actively sending applications out around the clock while still keeping close eye on Charli. This has been a very hard time in our lives and I would do absolutely everything I can to keep my baby safe and healthy but we could really use some help covering her expensive medical bills. Thank you so much to those of you who have donated already, it is a tremendous help. Please share this on your social and keep Charli in your prayers. If all goes well she should be able to come back home tomorrow
