Hello, my name is Katherine. My dog's name is Charlie, and he is 4 years old.

Starting Sunday, Charlie started to act very off, and his stools were not normal and had a phlegm-like substance. On Monday, he continued to act off and had lots of gas accompanied by very loud stomach noises, and this went on till Wednesday. On Thursday morning, I woke up to him vomiting on his bed three times and then proceeded to projectile vomit all over the house four more times. We took him to our usual vet, and he was given medication and injections for the vomiting. We thought this was going to help him get better, but at around 3 PM, he had very runny stools and did not want any Pedialyte or any substance. I assumed to just wait, and I did and gave him some Pedialyte and boiled chicken. He held it down for an hour, and as soon as we left my mom’s house and got home, he proceeded to projectile vomit twice in the house. At this point, I was very worried because this is not normal for him. Nicholas then walked him to see if he wanted to pee or poo, and when he did poop, he proceeded to have very, very bloody watery stools. When I saw the stool, I was very concerned. I then decided to take him to the emergency vet because not only was he getting worse, he was more than lethargic; he wouldn’t get up and was barely awake. We rushed him to the ER vet, and there we started a treatment plan, and he is currently hospitalized for acute hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, which is very serious if not treated urgently.

Many that know Charlie know that he is the sweetest boy and rarely gets sick! We have our payments, but they are very high, and if it weren’t for our circumstances, I would not ask, but I please ask if you can help in any way, shape, or form, please do. We would appreciate it so much. All money will go towards his treatment! I’m praying every second of the day for him to get through this and be healthy.
