Help Keep Charlie’s Place Open — A Community That Gives Purpose
Charlie’s Place is more than a coffee shop.
It’s a place of purpose, dignity, and belonging.
Located in Fargo, North Dakota, Charlie’s Place opened its doors in April of last year with a mission that went far beyond serving coffee. This business was created to provide meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and learning disabilities—people who are often overlooked when it comes to finding steady, fulfilling work.
At Charlie’s Place, employees aren’t just “helped”—they’re empowered.
Here, they learn real-life job skills, build confidence, form friendships, and become an active part of the Fargo community. For many of the employees, this job is a source of pride, independence, and routine. It gives them a reason to show up each day knowing they matter and that their work has value.
Sadly, Charlie’s Place is now facing the very real possibility of closing its doors by the end of January.
In less than a year of operation, this small business has touched countless lives—but rising costs and financial challenges are making it impossible to continue without community support. If the doors close, it won’t just be another coffee shop disappearing. It will mean the loss of opportunity, stability, and purpose for the individuals who rely on this space.
We believe Fargo is the kind of community that shows up for its own.
Your donation—no matter the size—helps keep jobs intact, supports inclusive employment, and sends a powerful message that businesses centered on compassion and opportunity deserve to survive. Every dollar helps buy time, resources, and hope for Charlie’s Place and the people who make it special.
If you’ve ever believed that everyone deserves a chance to contribute, to learn, and to belong—this is that moment.
Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser. Together, we can help keep Charlie’s Place open and preserve a space that truly makes Fargo better.
Thank you for believing in this mission. ❤️
