Support Charlie's Garage Recovery Fund

Greetings.

My name is Charlie Martina, and I recently had my garage totally destroyed by the recent storm/tornado that came through our area here in Oneida County (Westmoreland) yesterday morning.

A very old and extremely large locust tree was uprooted and did major, unrepairable damage to the garage that my father and friends built way back in the early 1970s.

For many years, since my mother passed, and I remained here, trying to keep the family home going, there have been so many issues, health-related for both my wife and myself, the loss of a brother to cancer 2 years ago, and monetary issues.

Sadly, there is no homeowners insurance at this time.

I am out of work, with no income whatsoever, and have used what was meant to be my 'retirement savings' up completely to stay afloat with bills, taxes, and life in general.

I have been disabled due to many ongoing serious health issues, and I will not be eligible for any type of benefit for months.

My spouse is our only income at this time, and that is minimal at best.

The garage has many cherished memories inside, all being battered by the elements, and is not structurally safe to dig in as of yet.

Plus, the many tools and family heirlooms, etc., that every garage manages to accumulate over the decades.

Days out there with Dad, or the many years of jamming in our many cheesy garage bands...all gone...I am heartbroken.

Its contents? Without insurance, it's a loss for whatever cannot be retrieved safely.

My dear, dear friends and family have come to my aid and also suggested I start a GoFundMe page, and so, here it is.

If you can assist us in any way possible, we will truly be blessed and thankful beyond words.

The cost of removing this monstrous tree from the garage, and then the cleanup and attempted salvage of anything that may have survived, the cost of dumpster rental, etc., will be astronomical for us at this time, and I fear we may end up losing this place completely, as we are nearly unable to continue on at this rate.

If you know me, you know my heart is pure, and I'm as honest as they get...so...no BS here at all.
