Meet Charlie - our 5 year old golden retriever fighter - and the most selfless, large hearted and pure soul of soul dogs as one could possibly be has been heartbreakingly diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma, a very painful cancer.

Charlie's journey to treating and removing the cancerous tumor currently present on his paw has just begun.

Thanks to treatment options by vet oncologists, many golden retrievers, like Charlie, are already seeing amazing results and having years added to their lives by being provided treatment.

Charlie's humans (Kay and Kristi) are doing everything they can to get him access to these treatments while he’s still young and capitalize on his cancer only (hopefully) being present on his front paw, however additional testing is still needed to ensure that Charlie currently does not have any other cancerous tumors or presence of cancer anywhere else.

In addition to further testing to confirm there is no other cancer present on Charlie (other than the large mass on his left paw), there are currently a couple treatment options for Charlie. One of them is a limb amputation (meaning amputation of Charlie's leg with the tumor on it to ensure removal of the cancerous tumor), or 3 fractions of stereotactic body radiosurgery given within a one week span. Preliminary data looks promising for both of these treatment options.

Only caveat: both of these treatment options costs approximately $11,000.00 and that does not include $1,000 - $2,000 for additional testing to ensure there is no other cancerous tumors or cancer present anywhere else on Charlie.

Our goal of $15,000.00 is to make sure Charlie has access to these treatment options, and ensuring Charlie is cancer free (hopefully).
