The Story:
If you know Charlie, you know that he doesn’t just meet people he adopts them. To meet Charlie is to be immediately taken in as family. He is the first person to offer a helping hand, whether you need help moving, yard work done, or your oil changed. He shows up, he helps, and he does it with a smile.
For years, Charlie has poured his heart into his work as a cook for a nonprofit dedicated to helping others achieve sobriety. He views this work not just as a job, but as his calling. He is dedicated to his craft and to the community that helped shape him.
Charlie is a hardworking, goal-driven man who simply never calls in sick, you almost have to force him to take a day off. That is why, last year, when he finally called in sick, we knew something was wrong. A trip to the hospital confirmed our fears: Charlie was diagnosed with Leukemia.
True to his nature, Charlie battled hard. He kept his sense of humor even in the darkest times and successfully fought the cancer into remission.
The Situation Now:
Unfortunately, the cancer has returned, and this time it is more aggressive. Despite this, Charlie is still trying his best to work every day, maintaining his passion for cooking while simultaneously fighting for his life. But he cannot do this alone.
How You Can Help:
Charlie has spent his life serving others. Now, we are asking the community to serve him. We are raising funds to cover his Leukemia treatments and the mounting bills associated with his care so he can focus on healing rather than finances.
He would do the same for any one of us. If you can find it in your heart to donate to someone whose life mission is to help others succeed, it would be greatly appreciated.
We understand everyone may not be able to donate money, even a share of the link would go along way.
Thank you!
