Hi everyone,
My name is Luis Leon, and I’m a coworker and friend of Charlie Satter. I’m starting this fundraiser because Charlie is someone who has spent his career taking care of others—and now he and his family need our support.
I first met Charlie in 2017 at Perris Station 1B, where he was my senior fireman. From day one, he stood out. Charlie was kind, motivating, empathetic, and genuinely cared about everyone around him—especially the new guys learning the job. He led quietly, with integrity, and always made people feel supported and respected. Those qualities have stayed with him ever since.
Two years ago, Charlie faced one of the toughest battles of his life: cancer. He fought hard—and he won. Unfortunately, doctors have recently discovered three new cancer tumors in his colon, and Charlie is once again facing a difficult and uncertain road ahead.
This fundraiser is meant to help ease the financial strain that comes with ongoing medical treatment and time away from work, so Charlie can focus on what matters most—his health, his recovery, and his family.
Funds raised will help with:
• Medical bills and treatment-related expenses
• Travel and transportation for appointments
• Lost income during time away from work
• Everyday household and family needs
Charlie has always shown up for others with compassion and strength. Now it’s our turn to stand with him. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page is another powerful way to help.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and for keeping Charlie and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
With gratitude,
Luis Leon
