Hello! My name's Charli Brooks, and I've just been given the opportunity of a lifetime.

Currently, I'm a junior at Elizabeth City State University, majoring in Aviation Science with a minor in Emergency Management. I spend most of my days learning how to fly airplanes and volunteering in emergency response groups such as CERT. My dream is to make a difference, whether it's from the cockpit or working directly with communities in need.

This summer, my university selected me to join their very first study-abroad trip to Kenya (yep, Kenya!). I'll get the chance to learn about international business, meet local entrepreneurs, and really immerse myself in a culture I've only ever read about. It's not exactly a vacation but rather a learning experience, as I'll be meeting other dedicated university students and seeing firsthand how businesses run on the other side of the world.

I'm super close to making this trip a reality, but in all seriousness, I need a little extra financial support to cover the last part of the program fees. If you've ever been the first person in your family or group of friends to do something huge or terrifying, you undoubtedly know how excited (and scared) I am right now.
