Swimming 1 mile across a lake after three months out of water? For manatee conservation, Charley’s motivation is peak but it will definitely be a physical challenge!

Charley needs your support to help reach his goal of $500 to benefit the dietary and medical care of Lilypad, Orchid, and Vora (current rehab residents of Manatee Springs/ Cincinnati Zoo).

Charley is a Boy Scout of America passionate to assist manatee conservation and research while working towards earning his 1 mile swim badge at Camp Ransburg on June 25, 2025. Apart from attempting to not drown in a 1 mile lake swim, Charley will be spending his time this summer volunteering at the Cincinnati Zoo (required 120 hours) and traveling to Texas A&M - Galveston SeaCamp for Oceanography.

All donations will be presented to the Cincinnati Zoo and their partnership with Manatee Rescue and Rehabilitation. Cincinnati Zoo is one of very few Midwest facilities to rehab Florida manatees. Their dedication has provided opportunities for education outside of Florida.
