Hello, I am Angela Brady, Registrar, for the Charleston Youth Hockey Association in Charleston, SC. Our Board of Directors and Member Association is excited to share that our 14UAA Charleston Jr Stingrays, led by Head Coach Rob Concannon, has for a second year won the South Carolina Tier II 14U Division Championship, advancing to compete in the USA Hockey National Championship Games in Dallas, Texas, March 25th - 29th.
While the team has secured their position with a win, the costs of extending their season for nationals are significant! As a nonprofit youth hockey association since 1997, our mission continues to be ensuring the sport of hockey remains affordable for all families in the Lowcountry. With a volunteer staff, from coaches and managers to the Board of Directors, we rely on the support and sponsorships of our community to send our teams forward to participate in big moments such as this. Here’s where you can assist:
The estimated cost per player to participate on the Nationals stage is:
$2,000 per player to attend the five-day tournament, covering expenses such as travel, lodging, food, entrance fees, and other team-related items.
$2,500 for 6 additional ice sessions for extra practices leading up to the tournament dates.
The cost for their journey to Nationals is a steep one, but we know with support from our community, we can help lessen these families' out-of-pocket expenses. Whether you are a business or an individual, 100% of all donations will go directly towards supporting our amazing team in representing not only the Charleston Youth Hockey Association and our Charleston community but equally, the State of South Carolina, on a national level.
Given our Association's nonprofit status, your donation is tax-deductible. No matter the amount, every donation makes a difference for our athletes in continuing their dream of bringing South Carolina another championship. We thank you for your generosity and appreciate the support for our 14UAA Jr Stingrays.
Let's Go Jr Stingrays!
