Support Charles Stipes II’s Battle with Severe Neuropathy

My name is Charles Stipes. I live in Griffith, Indiana with my parents. Years ago, I was diagnosed with severe diabetes after cutting my foot in the driveway and not realizing I was injured. In the years since, we have struggled to control it, but finally, I am on a regimen of several medicines that have got it under control. However, the damage was already done. I have severe neuropathy focused in my feet that causes constant debilitating pain and weakness. Currently, I use a cane for short distances such as getting to my car, and my dad pushes me in a small transfer wheelchair for doctor's visits and any long distances. As the condition has worsened, I have begun to not be able to work regularly despite mounting medical costs and existing bills.

Seven Eleven's newer insurance is charging more per check and covering less, and my loving parents are unable to help me cover all these costs, though they tried at first. I, on average, work four to eight hours a week, sometimes more on a good week, but medical bills from numerous ER trips, procedures, and tests are mounting. I do not ask for assistance lightly. Anything helps. I am seeing a neurologist to discuss more tests and treatments in late May, the earliest they can see me. I hope to find a long-term solution, but at the moment, I am struggling. I rarely leave my chair that I sleep in, and my parents wait on me to the best of their ability despite their own medical issues. I humbly ask for support, and if not that, prayers in this difficult time for me. Thank you and love to my Griffith family. I miss working at the Seven Eleven gas station and seeing you every day. Having to leave that store for the one in Thornton when the Griffith store was purchased was painful for me. Thank you for reading this.
