Charles Harrell is a 7 year old boy that was recently diagnosed with a genetic form of bilateral Wilms cancer. This very unexpected diagnosis caught us by surprise and has lead him to have 2 tumors, one on each kidney. Unfortunately Charles is already in stage 3 on the right side of his kidney, we have been blessed to work with some of the best doctors at Dana farber Boston Children’s hospital to give my son the best outcome. Charles already underwent 2 cycles of chemotherapy, which lead to no results in shrinking which then lead us to recently having to rush into surgery to remove the tumor on the left side. (Which was the smaller one) for a confirmed diagnosis & best shot in saving as much kidney function as possible.We are still in the middle of our journey and have a long road ahead of us but with his bright spirits and smile, he literally keeps us going. Charles currently isn’t going to school this year and needs around the clock care, love & support and between medical bills already pouring in and travel cost, food and rent and plain ole living expenses we are running on fumes. I really was unsure about making this go fund me but my goal will always be to try to give my son the best and be there no matter what, we found out on 11/21/25 Charles has to start chemotherapy again after thanksgiving, 5 times a week, to work in our best efforts to shrink the tumor and saving his right kidney. Right now surgery would be impossible at the stage and size it’s at, so we are hoping to shrink it to give the surgeons the best chance possible to save as much kidney as possible. We were also told on 11/21/25 that recent scans show that tumor on the left side that has been removed or looks like some was actually left behind. We are facing many battles, one after another, 2026 is going to be a busy year and I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t scared but he is a warrior and after everything, his still his bright self ♥️ so sweet & charming.
