Help my Dad, Charles Brandau, Fight Against Stage 4 Cancer

My dad, Charles Brandau, is a dedicated and hardworking man who has poured his heart into his family and self-made landscaping business for years. Since he was young he has proven himself to be a go-getter, a self-starter, and brave. He has endured many troubles in his lifetime, and he always had a way of overcoming them. This diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer was one we never would’ve expected, yet my Dad has vowed to fight as hard as he can. Because of my Dad’s diagnosis, it’s expected that working will not be as easy as before. His business, Titan Landscaping in Pittsburgh, PA, is something he’s worked so hard for for almost 10 years, and he doesn’t want his hard work to go to waste. My father, Charles, is known for his stubbornness, sense of humor, and his deep love for those around him. This diagnosis set our entire world upside down. He’s determined to fight, hoping that with the right treatment, we can have more time together, help him feel better, and create lasting memories. Unfortunately, his insurance doesn’t provide access to the best care, and we’re worried about him having to settle for less than he deserves.

My dad has had many experiences in his life, but he has never been able to travel outside the country, and one of his wishes is to experience something new and meaningful while he is alive. He’s always inspired me to succeed in life, and I’m currently attending college, yet financial struggles have made things difficult for both of us. I’m heading back to school in the fall, and I want to make sure that when I am at school my Dad will have access to the best care. He worries about our future, about his daughter losing her Dad, his mother losing her only son, and what he will have to endure during this process. The stress of his diagnosis has been overwhelming for everyone who cares about him, and it’s hard to see him struggle with the uncertainty of what’s ahead.
