Hi, my name is Sara Perugini. I’m a mother to a beautiful, blessed 10-year-old boy named Charles.
Charles is autistic, vibrant, and full of light. Recently, our world changed when he was diagnosed with Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma, a rare form of skin cancer—especially in children. As heartbreaking as this has been, I made a decision: we will face this with strength, love, and hope.
Charles receives phototherapy treatments three times a week at UConn Health Dermatology. It’s a 31-minute drive each way, and yet, we make the journey together with courage and determination.
I want to take a moment to thank those who have been walking this path beside us:
To my boyfriend, Michael Pyzik – Thank you for stepping into a fatherly role with unwavering love and support. Charles lights up with you around, and when he asks for a “family group hug,” I know deep down you were always the piece we were missing.
To his ABA team, Chelsea & Katie – You’ve been with us from the start, showing up not only for therapy but even for his medical appointments. Your dedication has brought light during our darkest days, and I will never forget it.
To my father, Nick Perugini, and his partner, Lisa Morin – You’ve always been there in times of crisis, and now you're here again—supporting not just me, but your grandson. Thank you for being present.
Right now, I’m struggling to keep up financially. The disability benefits I once received for Charles have nearly vanished—sometimes as little as $200/month. Despite the medical demands, therapy schedule, and being a full-time caregiver, I’m doing everything I can to stay strong and resourceful.
That’s why I’m here.
Your donation can help us keep going—covering gas, bills, treatments, and essentials.
More than anything, I ask for your love, your prayers, and your positive thoughts. I believe with all my heart that Charles will enter remission.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
