Support for Charlene McAlister’s Family - Update As of Today

We continue to be deeply grateful for the incredible outpouring of love, support, and encouragement our family has received since the loss of my mom. Your kindness has helped carry us through some of our darkest days.

As we move forward, I am doing everything I can—working full time, caring for my family, and continuing the fight for justice while also honoring my mom’s memory in every way possible. While we are doing our best to navigate this journey, there are still many unexpected expenses that come with such a devastating tragedy, including time away from work as our family prepares for the upcoming trial later this summer.

We are heartbroken to share that Charlene McAlister tragically lost her life in a fatal hit-and-run accident on the morning of January 8th at the intersection of Peterson Road and Constitution Avenue. Charlene was on her way to work when this unimaginable event occurred.

Charlene was the sole provider for her household, supporting her daughter, who is facing ongoing medical challenges, and her grandson, who is still in school. Her sudden loss has left them in urgent need of financial assistance to cover basic expenses while they navigate this devastating time and begin the long journey of healing.

Charlene was a beloved daycare teacher who had a profound impact on the children she cared for, their families, and her community. Her warmth, kindness, and dedication to others will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

The funds raised will go directly toward helping Charlene’s daughter and grandson with living expenses, including rent, utilities, and other bills, as they adjust to life without her unwavering support.
