Support Charity's Urgent Hip Surgery Journey

My name is Charity, I'm 26, and I have a rare form of dwarfism called Pseudoachondroplasia. My condition causes curvature of the bones and deterioration of the joints which causes severe pain. I held off for several years in getting any surgeries done on my hips due to getting through college and now that I am through college, I have been unable to maintain a job regularly due to the severity of the damage from my hip joints. Last March I was able to have my left hip replaced and it has changed my life drastically for the better but it also has come with a price to pay. Because I only have 1 hip replaced, my hips are now off balanced and my left leg is longer than the right and there is even more extensive damage being done to the right hip. I had an appointment with my Dr on April 10th and he said in just a years difference in x-rays, there has been a "chunk" of my femur that has broken off and it is much more severe and needs to be corrected as soon as possible. The pain has increased significantly and is now causing severe nerve damage. My surgery has been scheduled for July 15th.

The only money I live off of is a small disability check I receive once a month. I have not been able to work because I haven't been able to walk, shower, clothe, or use the restroom on my own. Due to the specialty of my condition, I have to see my Dr out of state and have the surgery out of state. The money I raise from this GoFundMe will be used to cover hotel costs, gas costs, food costs, medication costs, medical copays/deductibles, and any other related emergencies that come up along the way.
