Support Charity's Study Abroad in Ghana

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Charity A., and I am a senior at Smith College majoring in Psychology with a minor in Biology, pursuing the Pre-Health Track. Recently, I was honored to be accepted into the CIEE Study Abroad Program, where I will study Reproductive Health at the University of Ghana in Legon, Accra, during the January Term.

As an aspiring physician assistant, my goal is to support and advocate for marginalized individuals who face systemic health inequities and limited access to care. The healthcare system has often overlooked these communities, and I am determined to be a part of the change. To truly make a difference, I believe it’s essential to be informed by diverse perspectives on health and wellness. Studying reproductive health in Ghana presents an incredible opportunity to expand my understanding of culturally nuanced care and to deepen my commitment to providing equitable healthcare.

This program comes with significant costs, and I have exhausted all funding options at my institution. As a first-generation, low-income student from an immigrant household, my financial resources are limited. I am turning to the larger community for support to help make this opportunity possible.

I am profoundly grateful for this chance to learn, grow, and serve my community better, and I would be even more thankful for your support. Any contribution—whether financial or by simply sharing this page—will make a real difference in helping me reach this goal. The funding will go towards my airfare, educational costs, housing, and books & supplies. Thank you for your time and consideration.
