Life can present challenges that test our strength in unimaginable ways. Today, we’re asking for your support for Charice Nash, a dedicated member of our Inbound team in Chattanooga, who is navigating an incredibly difficult journey.
Charice gave birth to her son, Callen Lightford, at just 25 weeks gestation. He weighed only 1 pound 15 ounces. Since his birth, Callen has been fighting for his life in the NICU, where he has spent the past four months.
During this time, he has undergone three major surgeries, including the placement of a shunt, and has been diagnosed with chronic lung disease. Callen spent over three months on a ventilator and now relies on a CPAP machine with constant monitoring. He is a true fighter, but the road ahead remains uncertain.
For Charice, this experience has been emotionally and physically overwhelming. The stress of watching her baby endure so much, combined with the demands of providing breast milk despite significant supply challenges, has taken a toll on her health and well-being. On top of this, the financial strain of prolonged hospitalization in the NICU, time away from work and mounting expenses has created a heavy burden.
Despite these hardships, Charice shows up every day for her son, holding onto hope and advocating for his care. But she can’t do it alone. To support Charice and her family, we’re launching a Helping Hands campaign.
Through Tuesday, January 27, the HomeServe Cares Foundation will match all employee donations to this campaign at 100% up to $5,000. If you’re able to contribute, please do so on this campaign page.
Every donation helps ease the financial and emotional burden on Charice and reminds her that she has our support during this time. And even if you’re unable to give, please keep Charice, Callen, and their family in your thoughts as they continue this challenging journey.
