“My Sister’s Keeper” - Helping Her Rise & Chase Her Dreams
The Total Woman Summit was created to EMPOWER Women through EDUCATION. CONNECTION and COMMUNITY. Our TWS Haven Retreat helps women practice Wellness as a Lifestyle. It is with this focus that we honor the unbreakable strength of women who rise together, offering unwavering support through life’s toughest challenges.
Our "My Sister's Keeper" initiative is a testament to the power of sisterhood—a call to remind women that no matter the obstacles they’ve faced, they can heal, reclaim their dreams, and walk boldly in the purpose God has for their lives.
Today, we invite you to be part of a story that embodies hope and resilience. Chantel, a courageous sister in our community, has endured unimaginable hardships. Yet, through faith and determination, she is finding her way to healing, rebuilding, and daring to dream again.
But she cannot do it alone. We’re asking for your support in helping Chantel on her journey. Whether through prayers, encouragement, or tangible assistance, your contribution can make all the difference in her life. Together, we can remind her—and every woman like her—that she is not alone and that brighter days are ahead.
Let’s stand with Chantel and show her the power of love, faith, and community.

Her Story:
Never in a million years did I think that, at 39 years old, after 18 years of marriage, I would be divorced with three children, all 10 and under, to care for. I had not worked since 2011, and life felt like it was falling apart. As bills piled up and uncertainty loomed over every decision, I didn’t know how I would move forward.
Then, my sister Chamel invited me to a retreat. She knew I couldn’t afford it, but when we spoke on the phone, she said something that changed everything: “Your retreat is covered—just get here!”
I was excited but still filled with doubt. The retreat was 13.5 hours away by car, or a 2.5-hour flight, and at that point, I could barely afford to pay my bills, let alone cover travel expenses. But deep inside, I knew I had to just get there. I had a dream. I saw myself lying across a big bed with white linens, journaling, and sitting in a chair by the window, journaling as I looked out into nature. I cried, I prayed, and I cried some more. I had been angry at God for how my life had unfolded, but I knew I had to go.
Then, on September 9, 2024, the morning my grandmother passed away, I signed my divorce papers. The pain was deep, and I felt completely stuck. But I also knew—I had to just get there.
Over the next few months, I worked cleaning and organizing homes for extra money. With that cash, I bought my plane ticket and had just enough for food. On October 23, 2024, a friend drove from Houston to care for my children, and I boarded American Airlines Flight 2068 headed to Nashville, TN.
When I arrived in Nashville, I couldn’t believe it—I was here! My brother picked me up from the airport and drove me to Smithville, TN. This is where my life changed forever.
The retreat was beyond anything I could have imagined. I was welcomed by amazing women who radiated the love of Christ. I had my own space—a king-sized bed with white linens and thoughtful gifts. I felt like royalty, from the beautiful meals to the fellowship, to the safe environment where I could finally share my divorce for the first time outside of family.
I learned so much about wellness, releasing pain, and finding healing in a supportive community. But most importantly, I gained a new family—a sisterhood of women who will pray with and for me, hold me accountable, encourage me in my photography, and help me dream again.
Through this experience, God made a way for me to “just get there,” and now I am forever changed.
