Support Chanel’s Battle Against Breast Cancer

Hey Friends, Family, and Community,

I am reaching out on behalf of my friend, Chanel Thompson — a woman who means the world to so many people. Chanel is more than just my friend; she is a sister, a confidante, and a shining light in the lives of everyone who knows her. If you’ve ever met her, you know that she radiates kindness, strength, and unwavering faith.

In September 2024, Chanel was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Since then, her life has been a whirlwind of doctor’s appointments, treatments, and an unimaginable emotional and financial burden. Even right now, she is hospitalized due to complications from her most recent chemotherapy treatment, making this difficult journey even harder.

Chanel is currently undergoing chemotherapy, but her battle is far from over. Her specific breast cancer has a very high risk of recurrence, so her care team has decided on a more aggressive treatment approach. Once chemotherapy is complete, she will still need to undergo two more surgeries, radiation, targeted therapy, and endocrine therapy to give her the best chance at beating this disease.

Chanel is self-employed, which means she doesn’t have the safety net of paid sick leave or employer-provided health benefits. If you know Chanel, you know she is incredibly proud, strong-willed, and independent—the kind of person who always finds a way to push through challenges on her own. But the physical toll of surgery and chemotherapy has severely impacted her ability to work, and the cost of fighting cancer has created an overwhelming financial burden that she simply can’t manage alone. That’s why I’m asking for help on Chanel’s behalf—so that she can focus on healing and reclaiming her life.

The costs associated with cancer treatment are staggering, and Chanel’s unexpected current hospitalization has added even more financial stress. Every donation—no matter the size—will go directly towards Chanel’s medical expenses, treatment-related costs, daily living costs, and additional supports to ease her journey.

Chanel is one of the most selfless, loving, and faith-driven people I know. She has a heart of gold and a smile that can brighten even the darkest days. She is an incredible person—someone who always puts others first, even when she’s the one in need.
