On Friday night, Haley’s little brother, Chandler Wojick, 28, was involved in a serious e-bike accident that left him with a severe brain injury. Chandler is currently at Tampa General Hospital, where the swelling in his brain became so significant that he needed emergency surgery to relieve the pressure. Part of his skull has been temporarily removed to give his brain room to swell and heal. Right now, Chandler is heavily sedated, and the full extent of his injuries is still unknown. What Haley and her family do know is that this will be a long, difficult road, and Chandler has a hard recovery ahead of him. His parents are by his bedside, and Haley, Conner, grandparents and the rest of his family and friends are all here for him, waiting to talk to him, waiting to hear his voice, and waiting to hear that laugh again. His older Brother Kyle is coming down, his aunts and cousins have been driving and flying down to sit with him. More than anything, they want Chandler to know how deeply he is loved and how fully he is being held up by the people who care about him.

If you know Chandler, you know he is one of the funniest people you will ever meet, with a laugh you can recognize from across the room. Chandler is a landscape development and irrigation specialist who has always worked hard, worked outdoors, and built things with his hands. Just a couple of weeks ago, Chandler moved to Florida for a fresh start and to be closer to Haley and Conner. He was beginning a new chapter and was excited about what was ahead. This past May, Chandler stood beside Haley and officiated her wedding, something she will always hold close to her heart. He has always shown up for the people he loves, and now his family wants to do everything they can to show up for him. Chandler’s dogs, Mac and Jack, are some of the most important parts of his world. They are his babies, and anyone who knows Chandler knows just how deeply he loves them. He would do anything for Mac and Jack, and the way he cares for them says so much about the kind of person he is: loyal, loving, and full of heart.

Haley is starting this fundraiser to help take some of the financial burden off Chandler and their family while they focus on being there for him. Right now, there is so much uncertainty about the coming weeks and months. The family does not yet know the full extent of Chandler’s injuries, how long his recovery will take, or when he will be able to return to the work he loves. What they do know is that Chandler will need significant medical care, rehabilitation, and support throughout this process. Donations will help with medical and rehabilitation expenses, time away from work, transportation, daily living expenses, and whatever Chandler may need throughout his recovery.
