My name is Katie Cuellar, and I am the proud owner of Chances and Dreams, a small pediatric therapy clinic dedicated to children with autism. We provide Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy for children ages 18 months to 7 years old—focusing on early intervention so they can grow, learn, and enter school alongside their peers with confidence.

At Chances and Dreams, we don’t just provide therapy—we support families, build relationships, and create a space where every child is seen, valued, and given the opportunity to thrive.

But we are facing a heartbreaking reality.

Many of the families in our community cannot access the services their children desperately need. Some insurance plans don’t fully cover therapy or even the cost of a diagnosis. Other families are on Medicaid and struggle to find providers or get timely access to care. And for low-income families, even small out-of-pocket costs can become overwhelming.

Because of this, I have been personally covering the cost for some children through what we call in-house grants—paying out of pocket or reducing fees so these kids can still receive services. Helping one or two families this way is manageable… but the need in our community is far greater than that.

Every week, I meet families who are searching for help, hoping for answers, and simply wanting the best for their child—but are held back by financial barriers.

Cover out-of-pocket therapy costs for families in need

Provide services to children who otherwise would go without care

Expand access so more children can receive early intervention

Offer in-house grants to reduce or eliminate financial burdens

Early intervention can change the entire trajectory of a child’s life. It helps them communicate, build relationships, gain independence, and succeed in school and beyond.

We believe every child deserves that chance—regardless of their family’s financial situation.
