My name is Anastasiia Vasylchenko, and I am 15 years old. I am a young figure skater from Odesa, Ukraine.

I started figure skating in 2013. I am determined and hardworking, and my life is in figure skating. In February 2022, my life changed dramatically due to the russian invasion of Ukraine. Due to hostilities, I was forced to leave my hometown with my mother and sister in March 2022 and, thanks to volunteers, move to Romania, Brasov, where the ice arena is located, which allowed me to continue to train, despite the war in the country, and where I still train. I am very grateful to the Romanian people and the two clubs, «CORONA BRAŞOV» and «Fiteducation Romania » for this opportunity and the support given to me during this time.

Since March 2022, I have been training in Brasov. Unfortunately, the ice arena in Brasov only works until the end of April, and then a break from May to mid-August. Therefore, in May last year, I traveled daily with my mother from Brasov to Bucharest to continue training. It took 2.5 hours there and 2.5 back. But thanks to the support from Romania to Ukrainians, the trip was free, so I could continue training in May at the ice arena in Bucharest until the ice was drained and in June at the Bucharest shopping center during the absence of ice in Brasov. At the moment, free intercity travel in Romania has been canceled, and the ice arena will not work in the summer in Bucharest either, so I cannot continue to train in the summer of 2023 Romania.

Despite the difficult financial situation, I participated in international competitions in the 2022-2023 season, thanks to my family and friends' support and efforts.

Today I am a member of the Ukrainian national figure skating team. My Profile Anastasiia Vasylchenko Skate Ukraine .

2. Participant of the ISU JGP Grand Prix Egna-Neumarkt 2022, October 12-15.
3. Winner of international competitions. Crystal Skate 2022, October 28-29, 2nd place.
  • Figure skating. Odesa athletes climbed to the podium of international competitions
4. Edusport Trophy 2023, January 16-18, 3rd place.
  • Figure skating. The Odesa figure skater won a medal before the start of the Youth Olympic Festival
5. Participant of the EYOF 2023, January 25-27, 12th place.

Becoming the champion of Ukraine was my first goal, which I went from the moment I started figure skating, and I am thrilled that I achieved it this year. My next goal is to participate in the World Junior Championships 2024 and adequately represent my country internationally. And the main goal is participation in the Olympic Games.

But, because the ice in Brasov is closed for the summer period from May to mid-August, and the difficult financial situation of my family, I need financial assistance to continue to train and study in the country where the ice arena operates during the summer period so that adequately represent my country in the new season 2023-2024 in the international arena.

To do this, I need approximately 7,000 EUR:

1. Creation of 2 new programs: short and free. The estimated cost is 2000 EUR.
2. Being on the ice all the time in the training process in the summer. The estimated 4000 EUR for four months is 700 - 1000 per month.
3. New Edea Ice Fly boots 400 EUR and John Wilson Pattern 99 Revolution blades 600 EUR.

I'm thankful to each of you for the financial help and for sharing my GofundMe page.

Sincerely yours,
Anastasiia Vasylchenko
