6/10 5:30pm- Surgery went well, his Doctor tried to be very conservative on what was removed. His feet have very deep and severe 3rd degree burns and will more than likely have to undergo more operations. Chalmus is still pretty sedated due to the medications he is on because of being in so much pain. 6/10 2:00pm- Update: he is out of surgery! The doctor said his total body surface is > than 25% burned and that they were “deep” they did have to clean his face so it is now bandaged up! He is covered in cadaver skin! They will not comment on the severity of his feet! Cannot see him until 4pm.

6/10 1:15pm- Chalmus has been in surgery since around 10am and we will update once he is out and we know details. We also have a GoFundMe account set up for him and donations can be made at any Glennville Bank Location.

Update 10:30pm- Chalmus is pretty well sedated because of the amount of pain he is in. He has 2nd and 3rd degree burns all over which may increase tomorrow. Surgery is still scheduled for tomorrow, I will update once I know a time. He is in ICU and very limited time to visit. He will have several more surgeries to come, we just don’t know much on that right now…one day at a time.

Update: 3:00pm- Misti and Wes just went in to see him! 2nd degree burns all over his body! They have him resting! Surgery will be tomorrow!

Please be in prayer for Chalmus Kicklighter. Sometime in the wee hours of the morning on Sunday, June 9th, 2024, he awoke to what he thought was his phone alarm, but it was the fire alarm. He was home alone (thankfully his kids were not home). Glennville Fire Department & First Responders were able to get him out safely. He was transported to Reidsville and airlifted to the Burn Center in Augusta. At this time, he is stable and has sustained substantial 2nd and 3rd degree burns all over his body.

His home was a complete loss. This was also a home he and another single father/friend were renting.
