Yesterday, my brother Chad was crossing the street in West Hollywood when a car turned sharply and hit him as the walk sign came on. The impact threw him into a full flip, and he landed on his back, immediately realizing his head was wounded. Witnesses and the driver rushed to help, and Chad was quickly taken to the hospital. After several scans and tests, doctors found he had multiple small brain bleeds and compression fractures in his lower lumbar. He was fitted with a large back brace and moved to the ICU, where he is currently awaiting the results of an MRI to determine if surgery will be needed. Thankfully, the brain bleeds are no longer an issue, but the severity of his back injuries and the length of his recovery remain uncertain. Once we determine if surgery is or isn’t needed, the plans for his rehabilitation will happen. Chad is as tough as nails and is planning on using that strength to get through this. Your love and support go miles in aiding him throughout this difficult journey.
Chad is currently starring in a musical in Palm Springs, but if he cannot continue his role through March, he will lose his income from the show. With his injuries, he will be unable to work or find another job for the foreseeable future. Our mom will be flying out to help Chad get set up after we learn more about his rehab plan, and she will stay as long as needed to support him. The funds raised will go toward covering Chad’s living expenses, bills, and lost income, as well as paying for our mom’s travel and stay while she helps him recover.
I want to thank you all so very much for not only loving my INCREDIBLE brother, Chad, but for helping to show that love by supporting him right now. Chad is truly one of the kindest, most genuine, loving people you could ever meet. He greets everyone with openness and real love. He makes you feel safe and seen in a way that is truly special. I know you all know what I’m talking about. He is the first to offer to help, and the last to ask for it. And so, THANK YOU. Thank you for helping. Your kindness and generosity in this uncertain time mean oh, so very much.
