Support Chad & Eric's Recovery from Hurricane Damage

My name is Stacey Martin. I am starting a fundraiser for our dear, sweet friends, Chad & Eric Hilburn. If you're from our town of Nolensville, TN, you probably know them. Chad was the previous owner of Salon 1797 and they were both very active in our community.

Chad & Eric recently became empty nesters, sold their home here, and moved to sunny St. Petersburg, FL in July. They were so excited to start this new chapter in their lives and be near the ocean and Universal Studios. They bought a home and filled it with all new furniture. Only two months in, as they always do, they invested heavily in necessary repairs to make this new home their own. The home was only 6' above sea level, but the neighborhood had never flooded before.

Hurricane Helene changed all that Thursday night. Luckily, they evacuated to a friend's home further inland before the storm with their pups and a couple of days worth of clothes. Thankfully, they are safe. As Eric went to see the damage Friday morning, he had to park a mile away and wade through water up to his knees. He was not prepared for what he'd find.

As they started the cleanup process today, they soon realized that there was very little to salvage. The storm and surging water ruined almost all of their belongings: childhood memories, priceless keepsakes, family photos, new furniture, clothes, shoes, and anything that 4' of raging, filthy, debris-filled storm water could destroy. Their home will have to be completely gutted and they will have to start all over, again.

It will take time, as we all know, to rebuild both physically and mentally. They are both devastated. In the short term, they need to find a new place to live until their home can be livable again, likely at least six months to a year. They will have to replace everything.
