My name is Colin, and I’m a 26-year-old full-time student at Santa Fe College. Recently, I rescued a puppy named Chaco, a mixed pit bull who has already been through more than any dog should.

I found Chaco on the streets of downtown Gainesville in heartbreaking condition. The person who had her was dragging her down the street, and it was clear she had not been cared for. When I took her in, she was suffering from multiple worms and parasites, had patchy fur, and was clearly malnourished. Since then, I’ve been doing everything I can to help her recover and give her the safe, loving home she deserves.

Because of everything she went through early in life, Chaco still has some challenges. She has a sensitive stomach from the parasites she had when I found her, and like many young puppies, she’s extremely energetic and curious. She tends to put everything in her mouth and can be a bit mouthy when playing. I want to make sure she grows into a well-trained, happy, and healthy dog, which is why professional obedience training is so important for her right now.

As a full-time college student, my financial resources are limited. I’m asking for help not for myself, but for Chaco. Any donations will go directly toward obedience training, veterinary care, vaccinations, and the food and supplies she needs as she continues to recover and grow.

Chaco has already come a long way, and she has so much love and life ahead of her. Any support—no matter how small—would mean the world to both of us.
