Support Centre Vignito in Benin (and honor The Judge!)
Donation protected
Hi all! As most of you know, Brad and I are on a one-year sabbatical, taking a break from our work and traveling the world. Part of our plan was to do some volunteering along the way, and for me specifically, to do so in West Africa. Back in the 1960s, my dad served in the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone, teaching English and coaching soccer. I've been thinking a lot about his legacy since his passing in 2020, and while I could not make Sierra Leone work, I did make it to Benin. I am currently volunteering at the Centre Vignito Ecole Secondaire, a non-profit primary school in Cotonou that serves the local community. The organization has been around for over twenty years, and the school itself, since 2008.
I am hosting this GoFundMe to hopefully raise funds for school supplies, classroom resources, really whatever the teachers need. They operate mostly on the donations of others and are extremely creative in how they make do, but I would love to be able to help them purchase books, puzzles, dry erase markers, crayons, paints, etc.
Thank you for your donations!
*GoFundMe does not operate in Benin, so please be aware that all donations will be transferred to my bank account. I will then make a cash donation directly to the school.
