Support Cenk's ongoing fight against leukaemia
My best friend Cenk has been battling cancer now for almost a third of his life on and off and has just been giving a prognosis of 6 months to live. He was originally diagnosed with leukaemia when we were only 17. I remember staying with him in the hospital rolling cold cans on his back when he would be up all night in and out of fevers. We always done our best to still have fun and be light hearted but he really did spend some of what should of been the best years of his life in hospital. Cenk received chemotherapy and after a long road of extremely uncomfortable procedures he managed to overcome the illness and continue to live a normal life.
It then returned for a second time which left him with no option but to have a bone marrow transplant. His brother was luckily a match and was brave enough to be a donor for Cenk. Once again, he endured this with a positive outlook and managed to over come the illness.
Unfortunately, the illness returned so he went on to have CAR T cell therapy. We thought that this would surely be the final hurdle and after it being successful we were certain he was going to be cancer free for the foreseeable future. Cenk completely changed his lifestyle and diet following on from this and done everything he could to maintain a healthy happy life. Opting to concentrate on only healthy positive thoughts and continuing to make everyone around him feel happy and special. My life honestly would not be what it is today if it wasn't for Cenk. Growing up he was always so funny, popular and attractive. But unlike most young popular boys in school he was always so kind , thoughtful and sensitive towards other boys and girls in school. He was someone that made EVERYONE feel like someone and would always stick up for those that needed it. He's a completely different sort of soul and you don't get blessed with many like him. Throughout his entire battle he has always been too proud to ask for help or allow anyone to set up a go fund me page.
However, his cancer has now returned for a 4th time and he has been given a prognosis of around 6 months to live and been diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia which is a type of cancer that affects white blood cells. It progresses quickly and aggressively unless treated which is no longer an option at the hospital. I absolutely refuse to believe this is it and after having done significant research on the success holistic and natural ways of healing have had for so many individuals with various life threatening diseases has had. I still have hope as does he that he will beat this or at least live a long happy stable life alongside this disease. He is trying to concentrate completely on being healthy, believing he is healthy and doing everything he can to explore alternative medicines as the hospital have said they literally have nothing else to offer him treatment wise.
He is in no position to be working right now and quite rightly shouldn't be. He needs to put his health first and as much as his pride as a hard working man is holding him back from accepting help from friends family and strangers. I can no longer allow that to stop us raising some money for him to not only enjoy his life to the full during this time and help assist exploring other ways of healing without money being an issue. He has a huge network of friends and family who I know are so keen to help but are unsure how to go about it. So for all of you that know and love him this is how. My aim is too raise 5k minimum but believe we will surpass that in no time. I am also more than willing to set up any sort of fundraiser or work alongside appropriate brands who are willing to donate a reasonable amount to this cause and in return I will promote certain products/ranges for free on my social channels as a way to raise money towards this. The government give people in his position such a small amount of money which in my opinion is barely enough to live happily on let alone get other treatment with! I have done lots for charity in the past but nothing has ever meant more to me or been closer to home than this.
Additionally if you have a friend or family member too proud to accept help please take it on as I have and do everything you can for them. Pride should never come before your health and nobody in this situation should ever have to live without help. Absolutely no one should be worrying about money when they have been given a prognosis of 6 months to live. Also please be aware Cenk does not want to spend the next few months talking about or highlighting his illness. He is still the same person so be sensitive not to keep bringing it up or treating him any differently when you do see him as although it comes from a good place. It really doesn't help his mental or physical set point.

Description of procedures as follows...
Chemotherapy - (KEE-moh-THAYR-uh-pee) Treatment that uses drugs to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Chemotherapy may be given by mouth, injection, or infusion, or on the skin, depending on the type and stage of the cancer being treated.
Bone Marrow Transplant - Listen to pronunciation. (bone MAYR-oh TRANZ-plant) A procedure in which a patient receives healthy stem cells (blood-forming cells) to replace their own stem cells that have been destroyed by treatment with radiation or high doses of chemotherapy.
CAR-T - This procedure involves a procedure in which a patient receives healthy stem cells (blood-forming cells) to replace their own stem cells that have been destroyed by treatment with radiation or high doses of chemotherapy. CAR T-cell therapy is a very complex and specialist treatment. With this treatment, a specialist collects and makes a small change to your T cells. After a few weeks, you have a drip containing these cells back into your bloodstream. The CAR T-cells then recognise and attack the cancer cells.
