Hello, Family and Friends!

Over the weekend, my nephew Adrian Rubio and his girlfriend Celestia R. Monroe were the victims of a serious automobile accident. They were struck by a semi-truck after passing heavy rain on the road in Kingman, AZ. The impact was on the passenger side, which was where Cel was located in the vehicle. They were immediately transferred to the nearest hospital in Kingman. However, Celestia suffered major injuries that required her to be transferred to the nearest hospital more suitable to assist with her needs and care. She is currently in ICU in Las Vegas (away from home and her family), and some of her traumatic injuries include: 12 fractured ribs, lacerated spleen, blood in her lungs, and 2 fractured vertebrae.

No one is prepared to experience something like this. As we know, accidents come with pain and suffering, but also unexpected expenses. Treatment and recovery can take up to 4 months. With this long-term recovery journey, Celestia is surely going to experience a great deal of unexpected and unprepared for expenses, such as rent, bills, and any other responsibilities that await her. To help alleviate some of her expenses during this difficult time, we created this GoFundMe account.

Durante el fin de semana, mi sobrino Adrián Rubio y su novia Celestia Monroe fueron víctimas de un grave accidente automovilístico. Fueron impactados por un trailer después de pasar una fuerte lluvia en la carretera en Kingman, Arizona. El impacto fue en el lado del pasajero, que era donde se encontraba Celestia en el vehículo. Fueron trasladados inmediatamente al hospital más cercano en Kingman. Sin embargo, Celestia sufrió lesiones mayores que requirieron su traslado al hospital más cercano y más adecuado para atender sus necesidades y cuidados. Actualmente se encuentra en cuidados intensivos (ICU) en Las Vegas (lejos de casa y de su familia), y algunas de sus lesiones traumáticas incluyen: 12 costillas fracturadas, bazo sanguíneo lacerado, sangre en los pulmones y 2 vértebras fracturadas.

Nadie está preparado para vivir algo como esto. Como sabemos, los accidentes conllevan dolor y sufrimiento, pero también gastos inesperados. El tratamiento y la recuperación pueden tardar hasta 4 meses.En este viaje de recuperación a largo plazo, Celestia seguramente experimentará una gran cantidad de gastos inesperados y sin preparación, como vivienda, facturas y cualquier otra responsabilidad que le espera.
