Support Celeste's Journey to Duke MFA!

Hello friends and family!

I am so excited to announce that I have been accepted into Duke University as an MFA student this Fall! As you may know, I was blessed to receive my BFA in Dance in 2023 and have been dancing in Chicago with Red Clay Dance Company since. Going to grad school has always been the plan for me, but seems especially poignant now that our education systems and creative communities are under attack. Now more than ever, I want to lean into education so that I may strengthen and sharpen my knowledge of how to continue to do the advocacy work that I have been immersed in for the last two years through my own practice. We have always needed artists and truthtellers, and Duke has offered me the opportunity to further fortify my foundations in the field. Before the semester begins, I have been invited by the incredible Michelle N. Gibson to assist her during a choreographic process at the American Dance Festival in Durham, which means I will need a little assistance moving out to North Carolina earlier.

As this is my first time moving across the country with more than two suitcases to my name, I am humbly reaching out to those who have any mutual aid to to spare to help me move and settle before school starts. I will use the funds to procure a moving truck, travel, help buy groceries, and pay for my second month's rent while I assist Mz. G. I know these are difficult times for many, so truly anything helps!
