Support Celani’s Studies in Fashion Design at Parsons Paris

I am Celani Lightbourne, and I need your help to make my educational dreams to study Fashion Design at Parsons Paris come true!

I am a young fashion designer who migrated from Jamaica to the United States to attend high school in pursuit of a career in the fashion industry. I recently graduated with honors from Fort Lauderdale High School with a weighted GPA of 4.6, an ESB certification, and the Cambridge AICE Diploma. While attending Fort Lauderdale High School, I completed the four-year fashion design program and served as the Vice President of the Fashion Club. I also volunteered for Miramar and Fort Lauderdale Fashion Week as a part of the production team, specifically assisting behind the scenes with the coordination of the designers and models. I have been accepted into Parsons Paris (the European branch campus in Paris, France of Parsons School of Design at The New School), which is one of the top design schools in the world.

Attending Parsons Paris is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me and will be a dream come true. Unlike any other design school, Parsons Paris is a place where I can expand and essentially build on my creativity in a city that is known for its love of art and has produced many world-renowned designers and artists who have thrived. I believe that I will learn and experience their legacies through the history, culture, creative atmosphere, diverse people from many places, and the unique way of life that both Parsons Paris and the city provide. I will apply this to my works of art, which will give it an entirely new experience, essence, and aura that people from all walks of life can admire and feel. I will apply and hopefully, intern with major fashion brands to learn the skills and techniques that wouldn't normally be taught in school and apply them to further improve my skills.

My long-term goal upon completion of my degree from Parsons Paris is to start and build my own world-renowned fashion brand, online and in physical locations in Paris, US, Jamaica and around the globe. To make my dream a reality and cover my first year, I need financial assistance of $50,000 to cover the cost of relocating to Paris, tuition, housing, and other educational expenses such as books and school supplies. I have received a partial scholarship from Parsons Paris; however, it will not cover all of the tuition and expenses. Although my parents are hard-working individuals, the reality is that they do not have the financial resources to assist me with this opportunity to further my education.
