My friend Cedric is a Master’s student from Benin, currently studying Biochemistry and Molecular & Cell Biology at the University of Namur, Belgium. He is one of the most hardworking people I know.

Alongside his demanding studies, Cedric works at a supermarket to support himself. On days without classes, he wakes up at 5 a.m. to go to work. He receives no financial support from his family back home and has no scholarships, relying entirely on his own effort to cover his living costs.

Starting in February, Cedric will begin a full-time, unpaid internship as part of his studies, where he will be doing cancer research. This opportunity is crucial for his academic and professional future, but it will significantly reduce the time he can work and earn an income.

Cedric’s biggest monthly expense is rent, which is €400 per month.

Our goal is to raise €2,000, which would cover five months of rent, allowing him to focus on his internship and studies without the constant stress of housing insecurity.

Cedric is not someone who asks for help easily. He values independence and works incredibly hard to stand on his own feet. Any contribution, big or small, would make a real difference and be deeply appreciated.
