On December 11, 2025, my dear friend Cecielia Decker suffered a sudden and unexpected stroke at just 24 years old. Since that day, her life has changed dramatically.

For the past seven months, Cecielia has been unable to work or contribute financially to her household. During this time, her husband, Joey, has been the family's sole source of income while also caring for her throughout her recovery. Cecielia has endured countless hospital stays, specialist appointments, and ongoing physical and speech therapy. She also faces several potential spinal surgeries, followed by a hip surgery this fall.

In addition to recovering from her stroke, Cecielia lives with a severe autoimmune disease, musculoskeletal conditions, and severe asthma. These chronic illnesses require frequent infusions, injections, specialized treatments, and costly medications, creating an overwhelming financial burden. As her medical needs continue, she and Joey will also be relocating this fall to better accommodate her recovery following hip surgery.
