Hello, I'm a family friend of Jennifer C, her parents Bernice & Phil and Jenn's amazing granddaughter CeCe. On April 6th, CeCe was in a high speed, nearly fatal car accident in Phoenix, Arizona where unfortunately she was internally decapitated (broken neck) and experienced a brain bleed due to the trauma of the accident. CeCe underwent a major neck fusion surgery to stabilize the neck/spinal column and was intubated after surgery for a day. CeCe was taken care of by the amazing team at Children's Hospital in Phoenix in the ICU for many days. The brain bleed she has experienced causes double vision in her left eye which will need therapy and potential surgery down the road. Her brain (and body) needs time to heal. The medical professionals at the hospital have discussed the traumatic brain injury may be the cause of her inability to swallow as well. CeCe, being the brave young 8 year old girl that she is, has an NG tube installed in her nose which ensures she gets the nutrients it will take to heal. Children's Hospital of Phoenix were miracle workers and has saved her life. We can not thank the nurses, doctors, medical professionals and emergency response team who cared for CeCe like she was their own, with the utmost care and love. Thankfully, Jenn will be moving CeCe back up to Everett, Washington where she once lived and will tend to her every need as she rehabilitates her cherished granddaughter. She has several months if not years of rehabilitation to recover from this tragic event in her life. CeCe and Jenn are facing many appointments for physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, may need special medical equipment, an adjustable bed, NG feeding bags, and medicine, alot of care and attention from Seattle Children's Hospital, and prayers from all of us. Jenn is an amazing grandmother and will need our support and love, but mostly our financial support. CeCe was an amazing, and talented gymnastics expert and rising to the next levels of excellence every year through dedicated practice and precision. Knowing what a strong, dedicated, fun, and faithful little girl she is, I know she will continue to heal and come back from this injury even stronger, and more determined as ever. She may need to take up jazz or tap dance, but she will have something amazing to teach all of us. For those of us who are lucky enough to know the family and particularly CeCe, we know we are blessed with her sweet smile, her laugh and her energy that draws us to get to know her better, and become more like CeCe: playful, full of spirit, dedicated, and faithful. I ask that you consider digging deep and showing Jenn and Cece a generous gift. This will help them now and in the future, more than you ever will know. Thank you.
