Support Cecelia's Long Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Sadly we are forced to ask for help for our oldest daughter Cecelia Tinoco. As many of our family and friends know Cecelia found herself in an unfortunate situation as a passenger of a drunk driver. They crashed into a tree at approximately 65 miles an hour at 3am New Years morning. She sustained an incredible amount of severe injuries. She was on a ventilator for 8 days, she had 7 hrs of surgery on the 1st, 7 hrs of surgery on the 2nd, 2 hours of surgery on the 3rd day and several more surgeries after that, both orbital sockets are fractured, her nose was crushed and was rebuilt, her left eye sustained many full thickness cuts repaired by an incredible plastic surgeon, her left pupil is blown and off center, deep laceration on her upper lip, several large burns on her chest and stomach from the engine compartment was crushed on to her body, 5 ribs left side broke, large bruises on her lungs, She has several small blood clots in both lungs and in pelvis, left arm near wrist broke and repaired with bar and pins, pelvis has open book fracture repaired plate and screws, sever abrasions and hematomas on thighs left ankle and talus bone compound fracture repaired with pins and screws (may need fused we don't know yet), left knee has a huge deep gash, right leg compound break above the ankle repaired with a rod, right foot complete degloving of the right heel and outer top of foot currently working on saving the foot. This is a 6.69 inch by 5.51 inch open wound on her foot. It has shark and pig protein prepping it for skin grafts. We won't know until it's healed enough to stand on if these procedures saved her foot. There will be many surgeries and lots of time to heal before we know how successful all of this effort have been.
Because No Fault Insurance Laws changed in 2019 it caps how much medical coverage she's allowed. Cecelia doesn't drive and didn't live at home where we have insured vehicles, so she is put into assigned claims. When you are in assigned claims they cap you at $250,000. in medical coverage. She has exceeded that already we are sure. Her lawyer expects she will need to file bankruptcy when all is settled because the hospital will come after what she wins in the liability suit. She had to surrender her apartment and lost the new job she'd just started. It will be many years before she can live on her own again.
We are asking for funds to help make our home handicap accessible for her including a ramp, bathroom and bedroom.
We are so grateful for the people who stopped and helped our daughter called 911, all the first responders that got her safely to Munson ER, ALL the staff at Munson the doctors, surgeons, nurses, CNAs have been absolutely the best. She has had phenomenal care throughout her 33 day stay so far. For all the support from our family and friends who have offered prayers, emotional support and financial assistance. You have no idea how incredibly blessed you have all made us feel.
