Cecelia Covarrubias was the most wonderful, generous person. She came here from El Salvador many decades ago and made her living cleaning houses for people, sharing her quiet, encouraging spirit with everyone she met.
She had been feeling unwell for several months now and was admitted to the hospital in mid January. She discovered she was gravely ill with metastatic cancer. Sadly, she passed away one week later.
Unfortunately, given the expense of living in the DC area combined with her lifelong commitment to financially support family in El Salvador (like many immigrants), Cecilia did not have health insurance. In addition, her husband lost his job some time ago and has not yet found employment.
Please consider making a donation in Cecelia's memory that will help Nelson deal with the financial implications of this tragedy. As one of Cecelia's longtime clients (she worked for me for over 25 years), I will be eternally grateful for your support.
Please feel free to give using your name or anonymously, and please note that GoFundMe asks for a tip that is NOT required - you can use the scroll bar (found under the "amount" field) to reduce that percentage to $0. Thank you VERY much for considering making a donation.
