Hi everyone, my name is Annaluz I’m putting together a fundraiser to help the people in Cebu, Philippines.

This past week, two strong typhoons — Tino and Kalmaegui hit the province of Cebu (2.5 million people) and caused massive destruction. Entire neighborhoods were flooded, 400,000 homes were lost, and thousands of families are struggling right now. The Philippines has now declared a state of calamity. Another typhoon is also on a path to hit the Philippines again this weekend!

There’s very little international attention, and so many people don’t even realize what’s happening in Cebu. Some major news outlets are reporting about it, but they’re not providing resources for people to help them directly, but me and my family have a direct line of communication to this community.

My mom is from the Philippines, and her side of the family lives in Cebu. Thankfully, they’re safe — but there’s no power, and it could be weeks before government aid reaches everyone who needs it.

That’s why I’m stepping and using my platform to help. I’m raising money to send straight to my family in Cebu so they can buy food, water, and supplies for people in their community.

Even just one or five dollars can make a huge difference. Because of the exchange rate, five dollars can feed multiple families for a day!
