Tax deductible
I have the privilege of working with some of the most dedicated and caring people in Wisconsin. I am the Director of Development and Community Engagement for Creative Community Living Services, Inc. (CCLS), a nonprofit organization based in Watertown. Our frontline workers deliver compassionate care to hundreds of people with developmental disabilities in communities across Wisconsin, including Milwaukee, Waukesha, Racine, Madison, Janesville, Beaver Dam, La Crosse, Black River Falls, Wisconsin Rapids, Marshfield, and Plover.
About CCLS
The mission of CCLS is to help people with disabilities achieve their highest level of independence. We offer assisted living services in adult family homes and community based residential facilities. CCLS direct care workers also provide in-home services, such as homemaking and chore assistance, to people with disabilities who can live on their own but need assistance with some aspects of daily living. Other CCLS services include transportation assistance, daily living skills training, vocational assistance, nursing supports, and day service programs.
Our frontline service providers receive much less pay and make many more sacrifices than the average worker in Wisconsin. During the current pandemic, they are risking their health, and in many cases the health of their family members, every day they go to work. Many of our employees are also working longer hours in a more stressful environment to serve and protect some of the most vulnerable people in our society in these difficult times.
CCLS Employee Healthcare Assistance Fund
CCLS has established a new fund, the CCLS Employee Healthcare Assistance Fund, to help support our dedicated and compassionate workers, and we need your help to make it successful. This fund will be used to help our hard-working staff pay their “out-of-pocket” deductible heath care expenses. These costs often amount to thousands of dollars per employee each year, which can be a heavy burden on their personal finances.
The need for this type of financial assistance is great. CCLS currently has 120 employees who participate in our high-deductible health insurance plan. Last year, 31 of our staff members reached the individual deductible maximum ($6,550), and one hit the family deductible maximum ($13,100). A total of 51 CCLS employees had over $3,000 in out-of-pocket health care expenses in 2019.
Please support my dedicated colleagues with a generous contribution to CCLS. Your donation will help some everyday heroes who make a difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities in communities across Wisconsin.
