Caylei was involved in a rollover accident Sunday afternoon traveling back from Iowa City. Her vehicle spun out after her rear tire caught the edge of the road on the narrow stretch of construction after being nudged over by another vehicle. The car then rolled and came to a stop in a creek on the passenger door where Caylei was thrown. Her car was still in gear, so she was unable to open her doors to get out. She used the in-vehicle system to call 911. Within no time at all, multiple people had called it in, and three gentlemen stopped and were able to get her removed from the vehicle and were with her until help arrived. Miraculously, not only did she survive, but she is in good shape physically. She underwent a small procedure while in the ER to repair her ear and has lots of cuts and bruises. Emotionally is another story. The stress of not having health insurance added to the stress of missing work, replacing the vehicle, insurance deductibles, and the general trauma of the accident has been rough. Caylei is still off work until follow-up visits to make sure she is healing as she should. Caylei is such a sweet and kind person who would do anything for anyone, and I’m hoping to be able to help ease some of the stress so that she can focus on healing and getting back to work.
