Cayden's Hope, Our Fight! Healing, One Gift at a Time!
Donation protected
My name is Erica Edden, I’m a mother, a fighter, and more importantly — the full-time caregiver to my 17-year-old son, Cayden, who is in the fight of his life.
Cayden was born with Sickle Cell Anemia SS, a cruel and painful genetic disease that has shaped every part of our journey together. For 17 years, I’ve watched my son suffer through unbearable pain crises, miss school, spend holidays in hospital beds, and carry a weight no child should ever have to bear. As his mother, I’ve held his hand through the worst days and prayed every night for a cure.
Today, we finally have a reason to hope.
Cayden has been approved for a groundbreaking gene therapy that has the potential to cure his Sickle Cell. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity — the result of years of medical advancement, answered prayers, and Cayden’s endless courage. This treatment could mean an end to the pain, an end to hospital stays, and the beginning of the life he deserves to live.
But this healing journey comes at a steep cost — emotionally, physically, and financially.
As his full-time caregiver, I’ve had to step away from work to be by his side. We are facing months of treatment, recovery, and travel to a specialized center away from home, in Nashville. The costs are more than we can carry alone.
We’re asking for your help to raise $10,000 to cover:
Travel and lodging near the treatment facility
Medical expenses not covered by insurance
Daily meals and transportation
Medications, labs, and follow-up care
Loss of income while I care for Cayden around the clock
This isn't just about bills. This is about giving my son a second chance at life — a better quality of life without pain, without fear, and with a future wide open to endless possibilities.
Every donation, every share, every prayer brings us closer to healing. We are leaning on our faith, our community, and the kindness of those who believe that no mother should have to choose between working and caring for her child.
Please help me give Cayden the support, the care, and the healing he needs right now.
With love, hope, and deep gratitude,
Cayden's Mom
